“I can still make the whole place shimmer.” — Bejeweled
Welcome Swifties!!! This is your album-by-album guide to perfumes that we think smell like each Taylor Swift era. We matched color story and vibe to real fragrances. Use the jump links to find your era, or scroll them all to find a scent that fits your current mood, or era.

This is a post about Taylor Swift albums and the fragrances that remind us of each album. They are perfect gift ideas for “Swifties,” the name given to Taylor Swift fans.
*Updated August 2025*
So much has happened since we first published this post! Just in the past few months we learned that Taylor was able to buy back her masters, and now she just dropped a brand new album. So we definitely needed an update to include all her records, plus the highly anticipated The Life Of A Showgirl, to be released October 3, 2025.
We have heard that this album is going to be a high energy one, with lots of bops. She produced it with Max Martin, so those of us Swifties who really love the Eras he was heavily involved in (Red, 1989 & Rep), this is going to be funnnnn.
Slowestuff “Swiftie Season”

If you couldn’t tell, we are big Swifties over here at Slowestuff. This is a seasonal blog, so we thought we would create a “Swiftie Season” to put all of our TS stuff. She is constantly in the news, releasing something, announcing something, so it is a season that shows up pretty regularly!
One of the posts we have up is for the scrapbookers or junk journal fans. Lots of inspiration of layouts based on The Tortured Poets Department.
What are good gift ideas for a Taylor Swift fan?

If you are searching for gift ideas other than perfumes for your favorite Swiftie, we have linked our shop here which includes, among other things, the vinyls to each album below. Plenty to choose from this year, with her new release dropping right before the holidays. On top of that, plenty of albums you can buy now that she has reclaimed all her masters.
Grab those and a record player, and maybe some wall mounts to display the albums, along with a perfume or two, and you will make the Swiftie in your life VERY happy!

FAQs: Taylor Swift Era Perfume

Think color, mood, and notes. The red era leans bright fruit with vanilla base notes and a fresh citrusy essence. The reputation era fits woody notes, a smoky sweet scent, and spicy fragrances. Folklore or Evermore read warm scents with notes of sandalwood. 1989 loves breezy florals, notes of jasmine, white amber, and mandarin leaves. Tortured Poets Department skews ink-on-parchment cozy, a soft paper vibe meets library woods. Hide a fun easter egg in copy. Reference the documentary Miss Americana or lyrics like Blank Space and Made of Starlight to signal vibe for your fragrance picks.
Match vibe to fragrance choices. For Lover, try richly romantic scents with magnolia petals, apple blossom, or a delicate balance of lychee. Speak Now suits breezy florals and the excitement of love at first sight for hopeless romantics. Folklore benefits from a woodsy scent or a sophisticated fragrance. Red can handle a bold fragrance with base notes of peach. Reputation reads mature departure with notes of sandalwood. If you want sparkle for 1989, reach for incredible things in a floral theme that still whispers first love and the right fragrance for your outfit.
Yes, and fans love them. If you have a wonderstruck-shaped hole, look for a reported dupe of Wonderstruck that captures Wonderstruck Enchanted’s floral notes and that enchanting purple bottle vibe. Call out her eponymous scent, any namesake fragrance, and the third Elizabeth Arden fragrance era. Mention taylor’s retro-esque packaging, an accompanying collector’s music box, or a similarly shaped burgundy bottle with a similar musky floral aroma. Budget options include Body Works mists or Dossier’s Floral Sandalwood. Note past fragrances, past scents, unopened bottles, the cosmetics company behind them, and the names of both fragrances if you compare editions.
For the Reputation Tour replay, lean sexy woods and luxe musk. Think Tom Ford’s Santal Blush as your statement; show the bottle of Santal Blush in your carousel. If your Tom Ford fixation runs deeper, try Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille for plush drama and expensive wood. A clean stage-ready option is Narciso Rodriguez with vanilla musks. Tie styling to tour essentials that TikTok can make go viral; cite a TikTok fragrance influencer Paul Fino pick. Sprinkle pop-culture receipts like Grammy winner, MTV Video Music Awards, MTV UK, or a late-night host David Letterman nod. The pop superstar era energy is real, and searches like “taylor swift wear fragrance” spike when Travis Kelce headlines appear. Aim for your favorite fragrance, your signature scent of success, and a little night illusion for the encore.

STUDIO ALBUMS
If you are wanting to venture away from Taylor’s signature perfumes, here are some top women’s perfumes as well as some unisex fragrances that evoke the aesthetic and vibe of each of Taylor Swift’s music, albums and eras. She has a total of 12 studio albums, each of which has a distinct aesthetic, so the range of scents you can give as a perfume gift from this list is diverse! Definitely something for everyone.
DEBUT

Let’s start with her debut Taylor Swift.
Released in 2006, Taylor’s debut album at only 16 years old was her intro to the music world. “Tim McGraw” was the first song we remembered hearing! “Our Song” is quite possibly the perfect lyrical capture of the youth of so many people. It portrayed a wholesome younger version of teenage life and love. Whimsical dresses and cowboy boots.
Now that she has bought back her masters, we aren’t sure whether we will ever get a Debut (Taylor”s Version). No matter! We are happy that she, at long last, got her music back. Here are the fragrances that meet the Debut aesthetic and are perfect for both young and more seasoned Swifties.
Daisy by Marc Jacobs
Ralph by Ralph Lauren
Coach Signature Eau De Parfum
FEARLESS

We LOVE that we can update this post and include both covers of all her re-recorded albums. So the question is, which one do you like better? For Fearless, I think I actually like the TV one better! Love the golden light aspect of it.
Originally recorded in 2008 this album is a timeless classic that beautifully captures the magic of a young woman in love, wide-open fields, and the feeling of being “Fifteen” and invincible.
It was the album she chose to first re-record, releasing “Fearless Taylor’s Version” in 2021, and no wonder. This brilliant album clinched the Grammy for Best Album in 2010, solidifying Taylor Swift’s superstar status. It has some of her most memorable songs and whether or not you are a Swiftie, we know you have belted out the “Love Story” chorus at least once.
The following fragrances remind us of this album.
Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture
Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker
Flower by Kenzo
SPEAK NOW

Maybe her most critically acclaimed album until Folklore, Speak Now ushered in the purple era. Which cover do you like better? For us, it is definitely the original. The movement of the dress!!
Originally released in 2010, she just dropped “Speak Now Taylor’s Version” in early 2023, taking back her purple wonder of an album. Written completely by Taylor with no collaboration, it showcases her songwriting prowess and embodies personal growth, fairy-tale romance, and a sprinkle of whimsy.
The following fragrances remind us of this album.
Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf
Princess by Vera Wang
Romance by Ralph Lauren
RED

Tough choice on this one, because we really like both covers, but we lean towards the original with those iconic red lips.
This album was originally released in 2012, with “Red Taylor’s Version” being her second released re-record in 2021. It was a pivotal album in Swift’s career, focusing on heartbreak, passion, and intense emotions.
It contained arguably her best song to date (one of the best songs of all time?) with the original of Swift’s song “All Too Well.” The re-record allowed her to put the 10 minute version on the album, and the legion of Swifties made it the longest song to ever hit number 1 on the Hot 100.
These perfumes and fragrances remind us of this album.
Lady Million by Paco Rabanne
Viva La Juicy Noir by Juicy Couture
Gucci Guilty
1989

This album is so iconic, the re-record was going to have a tough job in matching the perfection of the original. Same is true for the cover. We love the symbolism of the re-record, but that original album cover is one of the best of all time! The album tho? Either version = still no skips.
In 2014, Taylor Swift transitioned to full-fledged pop and became an instant pop star, exuding a sense of liberation, self-discovery, and empowerment. Although “Shake It Off” is maybe the song most people are familiar with, this is a “no skip” album. Every song is amazing. It deservedly won the Grammy for Best Album in 2016.
Many Swifties were brought into the fold with this generational-defining album. Her re-record and release of “1989 Taylor’s Version” is now out and the album is linked above!
These are the fragrances that reminded us of 1989.
Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent
La Vie Est Belle by Lancome
Bright Crystal by Versace
REPUTATION
When we found out she got back her masters and wouldn’t be releasing a Reputation TV, we were not mad about it. All we did was immediately start listening to it again! So It Goes remains our favorite song on this album. So underrated!
Originally released in 2017, Rep is that girl. Taylor’s villain era.
This album was made to be heard in concert – it is jawdropping live. The vibes, energy and spectacle is just everything! It was also in this Era that Taylor began seriously having fun with her fan groups by dropping easter eggs in her albums, appearances, songs, etc.
Here are the fragrances that evoke this essence.
Black Orchid by Tom Ford
Hypnotic Poison by Dior
Alien by Thierry Mugler
LOVER
Lover had a resurgence years after it was released, because she opened The Eras Tour with not only this era, but also with the absolute banger that is Cruel Summer. We ABSOLUTELY proved it by screaming the bridge at the top of our lungs at the show (and any chance we get).
Released in 2019, “Lover” is an ode to love, friendship, and colorful dreams. A departure from the energy in Rep, Lover is a delightful mix of pop and indie influences, filled with positivity and romance.
It got a bit lost in the shuffle since it was released just as the pandemic was hitting, but it is a great album. The Swifties still mourn the loss of Loverfest, the tour that was set to start just as the world shut down. It arguably was also the era most channeled in the outfits we saw during the Eras Tour, as a lot of people chose this aesthetic!
We have listed below some perfumes inspired by “Lover.”
Daisy Love by Marc Jacobs
Burberry
Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana
FOLKLORE
Released during the dead of summer in the height of the pandemic of 2022, it is safe to say that everything about the surprise drops of “Folklore” caught all Swifties off guard. This woodsy, folksy, autumn vibe-channeling, absolutely brilliant album is on regular repeat.
“Folklore” marked Taylor Swift’s enchanting venture into indie folk and alternative rock, weaving a tapestry of introspection, storytelling, and a touch of mystique. Her songwriting on this album is incredible. The academy recognized as much, and deservedly awarded it Album of the Year.
Perfumes inspired by this album capture the album’s introspective and melancholic atmosphere, much like a “Mirrorball” on a quiet, “August” night.
Wood Sage & Sea Salt by Jo Malone
Santal 33 by Le Labo
Khamrah by Lattafa Perfumes
EVERMORE
In the same year, 2020, Taylor Swift surprised her Swifties again with “Evermore,” a sister album to “Folklore.” It continues the exploration of indie folk and alternative rock, providing a sense of continuity and expansion of the stories from the previous album.
“Willow” was its first single and has the sleeper hit “Champagne Problems” which many feel is the best song on the album. Perfumes inspired by “Evermore” often contain notes of cozy firesides, warm amber, and a hint of wildflowers, capturing the album’s sense of continuity and rustic charm, much like an “Ivy”-covered “Long Story Short.”
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Satin Mood
Lovely Cherie
Ombre Leather by Tom Ford
MIDNIGHTS
In August, 2022 Taylor released Midnights, an album about her sleepless nights and sweet dreams. The album reverts back to her autobiographical style, with a focus on reminiscing from different times in her life.
Swifties sent this album straight to the top of the charts. It was on repeat for weeks, and we are entirely convinced that the astounding Maroon actually casts some type of spell. It is truly hypnotic.
It is also the birth of the lyric “make the friendship bracelets” which then took off among her fan base in the exchanging of friendship bracelets during the Eras Tour.
Here are some amazing fragrances that reminded us of Midnights.
Liquides Imaginaries Bloody Wood
Angel’s Share by Killan
Lady Vengence by Juliette Has a Gun
The Tortured Poets Department
The Tortured Poets Department Ghost Double Vinyl Album
Smack dab in the middle of the Eras Tour, Taylor announced another one of her surprise releases with a new album, which turned out to be a double album when it was dropped!
The Tortured Poets Department is a slow burn. Lyrically intense with seemingly minimal production, this was not an album that immediately hooked us. It’s a thoughtful, introspective album that is more of an acquired taste, growing in depth and appreciation the more we listen to it.
Like Folklore, this album definitely channels a cool fall day with hot tea and a cozy sweater type of vibe – released right as summer is about to hit! We imagine this playing on a cozy night while we get curled up with a well-worn book of classic poetry. Imagine flickering candlelight illuminating handwritten verses filled with love, loss, and the bittersweet beauty of human experience.
Here are some fragrances that give us TTPD vibes:
Gypsy Water
Indigo
Byredo Bibliotheque
The Life Of A Showgirl

We haven’t actually heard this album yet, so we reserve the right to change our choices! But at first blush, here are the perfumes we think of when we think of Showgirl.

Versace Dylan Turquoise
