The Tortured Poets Department Scrapbooking Ideas

Spread the love

The professor said to write what you know, so Swifties, grab your tea. This album begs for journaling on cream paper and a little charcoal ink. Consider this your jumpstart to vintage layouts and a taupe palette with typewriter fonts that read like margin notes.

This post is about The Tortured Poets Department scrapbooking ideas & junk journaling ideas. *Updated August 2025*

Swifties love not only to listen to Taylor Swift albums, but they love to study them, analyze theories, find easter eggs, and scrapbook about them!

The Tortured Poets Department Era is particularly suited for scrapbooking – the whole album just screams vintage vibes, which is totally a scrapbooking thing.

We found some of our favorite layouts (13, as a matter of fact) that inspire us to create, and hopefully will inspire you too!

If you couldn’t tell, we are big Swifties over here at Slowestuff.

This is a seasonal blog, so we thought we would create a “Swiftie Season” to put all of our TS stuff. She is constantly in the news, releasing something, announcing something, so it is a season that shows up pretty regularly!

Besides the visual inspiration, we were also inspired to find fragrances that reminded us of The Tortured Poets Department, plus all of her other Eras too – including the upcoming The Life Of A Showgirl!

Taylor Swift surprised all of us by announcing the release of her new music, TTPD, rather than the anticipated re-release of Reputation! Most Swifties were anticipating the re-release, as she had already announced both Speak Now TV and 1989 TV during the Eras Tour.

We started to see images from this new album before its April 19th release, and the vibe included vintage, sepia toned type of pictures, which is a scrapbooking aesthetic that we love.

Plus! As if that wasn’t enough, it also used black and white images, similar to instant photos she has used in the past, which she played off on with her Grammys outfit this year. Both of these are some of our favorite themes to use in our scrapbook journal or for junk journaling.

I Love You. It’s Ruining My Life.

We love the idea of doing scrapbook pages not just for the album itself, but also for individual songs. They all have such a vibe. The sadness of So Long, London after the prior London boy. The crazy perky I Can Do It With A Broken Heart with its super sad lyrics!

There are a few amazing song scrapbook layouts shown below that are freaking fantastic representations of Fortnight, Down Bad, the Anthology and Whose Afraid of Little Ole Me?

What song(s) are your favorite off this album?

FAQs: Scrapbooking The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD)

Well there are no rules, but generally, sticking to taupe and cream with charcoal accents fits the TTPD vibe perfectly. Add soft black for titles. Keep any metallics muted, like antique gold. Layer textures with vellum or deckled paper so the page feels like old notes. If you want heaps of inspiration, jump to the layouts in this post and copy the structure you like. For more of this aesthetic, check out our post featuring neutral scrapbook ideas.

Genius move to use typewriter font or a real typewriter, because, you know, someone left a typewriter at her apartment. Date the page and add a line or two that reads like a margin note. Hand scribbled lyrics also work great for this asthetic. Personal reflections pair well with tiny captions under photos. This album’s aesthetic absolutely screams for annotations or journal notes. She wore hers on her dress!!!

It’s a journalers dream, frfr. You probably already have a lot of it. Vintage-style paper, vellum overlays, wax seals, tiny paper clips, library cards, and postage stickers all fit. Choose washi in quiet neutrals. Use an archival tape runner on cardstock and photo corners for vellum so adhesives don’t show. A fine black pen keeps captions crisp without stealing the scene. Gah, I love it all.

Great question, and we get this one a lot too! Scrapbooking usually means layouts built around photos and memories, like a fancy, decorated photo album. If you have pictures from the Eras Tour, and specifically for the TTPD section, this would be perfect to scrapbook! Junk journaling? That’s pure “do what you want” energy. Think random scraps, tickets, receipts, art, no rules, no photos required. The Eras tour is great for this too – your ticket, your wristband, glitter off the floor, friendship bracelets – these are all great for a junk journal. If you love structure, go scrapbook. If you love chaos (the good kind!), try junk journaling. If you want to see some examples of each, along side our discussion of it, check out our post here.
