We get asked this A LOT. Like, what is the point of it? First of all, its a hobby! Its fun! Creative! Relaxing! But if we want to get more technical, the main point of scrapbooking (and junk journaling!) is to capture memories and express yourself creatively. For some, it’s all about preserving special moments and family stories; for others, it’s more like art therapy. A way to relax and play with paper, photos, and a little glue. Or as we say, we stick paper on paper. At Slowestuff, we say: do what feels fun! Yeesh!

Great question, and we get this one a lot too! Scrapbooking usually means layouts built around photos and memories, like a fancy, decorated photo album. Junk journaling? That’s pure “do what you want” energy. Think random scraps, tickets, receipts, art, no rules, no photos required. If you love structure, go scrapbook. Pink is basically the chameleon of the scrapbook color world. It works for so many themes! Some of them ar obvious like baby showers, birthdays, weddings, Valentine’s Day, friendship pages. Of course, anything floral or vintage is also a perfect match. Pink gives a soft, happy, and sometimes totally glam vibe. We love to use pink in layouts, and have a whole post dedicated to Barbie type of themes, using pink (of course!)

Omg, such a good question because pink gets a bad rap for being too sugary sometimes. But if you mix it up with bold patterns, touches of black or metallics, or even other colors like navy, teal, or gold, it completely changes it up. Plus TEXTURE. We love lots of texture in our pages, and particularly so when it comes to pink. Think of mixed media, ripped edges and elevating stickers with puffy tape.
