A fun top, comfy bottoms, and WALKABLE SHOES. Any accessories you want, more is best when it comes to Mardi Gras. You will get plenty of beads if you are going to the parades, but if you are hitting a party, grab you a handful and throw them on.
This depends – if you are going to be on the streets for the parades, dress comfortable. If you are going to a ball, dress over the top and to the nines – lots of glitter, sequins, accessories – you won’t be overdressed, I promise.
Generally speaking, no. EVERYONE is going to be wearing Mardi Gras gear, so don’t feel self conscious about it. It’s an absolute blast so we highly recommend that you at least get you a tshirt in a Mardi Gras theme.
The less the better. You want your hands free and you don’t want to have to keep track of anything much. Figure out a subtle place to keep your money and cards and tuck those away. You might want to have a phone charger. Keep an eye on the weather if you are at the parades. You might need a rain jacket.
